PRO-6 seizes P2.3-M shabu, arrests 24 in 2-day operations

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) confiscated P2.3-million worth of shabu in a series of anti-drug operations across Western Visayas over two days.

Between the morning of January 7 and January 8, 22 police operations resulted in the recovery of 352 grams of shabu and the arrest of 24 drug suspects.

Among those apprehended, four were categorized as high-value individuals, while 20 were street-level drug personalities.

The arrests were made by the following police units:

* Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO) – two

* Antique PPO – one

* Guimaras PPO – one

* Iloilo PPO – three

* Negros Occidental PPO – seven

* Bacolod City Police Office – three

* Iloilo City Police Office – seven

The most significant operation took place in Barangay San Antonio, Zone 2, Oton, Iloilo, where alias “Fox”, 39, was apprehended on Wednesday at 3:57 p.m.

The suspect was caught selling shabu worth ₱6,000. Authorities confiscated 96 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P652,000.

In another major success, alias “Jojo” was arrested in Purok 5, District III, Sibalom, Antique, at 7:52 p.m. on January 7. Police recovered 60 grams of shabu valued at P408,000.

PRO-6 director, Brigadier General Jack Wanky, lauded the anti-drug enforcement teams for their relentless efforts.

“This accomplishment underscores PRO-6’s unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs. With the support of stakeholders and partnerships with communities and law enforcement agencies, we are continuously strengthening efforts to apprehend individuals engaged in illegal activities,” Wanky said.
