PRO-6 seizes P3.1-M illegal drugs in two-day ops

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) confiscated around 456 grams of illegal drugs worth P3.1 million and arrested 13 suspects during a series of anti-drug operations from December 2 to 4.

Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) seized the biggest volume of suspected illegal drugs valued at P2.4 million, followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) with P510,000 worth of illegal drugs seized.

Of the number of arrests, two were tagged as high-value individuals and 11 were street-level targets.

Here is the breakdown of the arrests per unit:

* ICPO – six

* IPPO – two arrests

* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – four

* Bacolod City Police Office made – one

PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky lauded the intensified effort of all units across the region in the campaign against illegal drugs.

“We would like to congratulate our police operatives and their commanders for the continued effort in this campaign and we highly appreciate the support extended to us by the other law enforcement agencies and the community that led to the arrest of these suspects,” said Wanky.

All 13 suspects are now under police custody and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
