W. Visayas’ No. 7 fugitive nabbed in Lambunao

ILOILO – A 66-year-old man, tagged as Western Visayas’ seventh most wanted, was arrested on Monday, December 2, during a joint police operation in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao, Iloilo.

Alias “Lito,” a resident of the town’s Barangay Cabatangan, has been evading arrest for multiple criminal charges.

He was caught around 4 p.m. by operatives of the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, Iloilo City Police Station 1, City Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6 of Police Regional Office 6.

He was the subject of an arrest warrant for murder issued on January 10, 2024 by Judge Gemalyn Faunillo Tarol of Regional Trial Court – Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo.

He was also served with separate arrest warrant for grave threats issued on March 11, 2024 by Judge Alonette Sicad Ragodo-Perez of Branch 32, Municipal Trial Court in Lambunao, Iloilo.

The court recommended no bail bond for the murder case and P3,000 bail bond for grave threats charge.

Police Colonel Kim P. Legada, director of the Iloilo City Police Office, lauded the swift coordination among police units.

“This operation is a testament to our commitment to bringing fugitives to justice. We encourage continuous cooperation between law enforcement and communities to apprehend other criminals,” Legada said./PN
