ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) confiscated approximately P40-million worth of illegal drugs and apprehended 334 suspected drug offenders across Western Visayas in February.
PRO-6 data showed a total of 5,834 grams of seized shabu valued at P39.67 million, and 2,516 grams of marijuana worth P302,000, in 254 police operations across the region.
The arrests were spread across various police units, with notable contributions from the following:
* Aklan Police Provincial Office – eight
* Antique Police Provincial Office – six
* Capiz Police Provincial Office – eight
* Guimaras Police Provincial Office – five
* Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) – 48
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – 131
* Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) – 63
* Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – 65
The largest drug seizure was reported by the BCPO, totaling P11.1 million, followed by the IPPO with P10.8 million and the ICPO with P9.4 million in confiscations.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office led the arrests with 131 suspects, making up nearly 40% of the total arrests, while the BCPO and ICPO followed with 65 and 63 arrests, respectively.
PRO-6 director Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended the collective efforts of police personnel, local government units, and other law enforcement agencies in achieving these results.
“These successes are a direct result of our teamwork with the community and local authorities. We will continue to intensify our operations against illegal drugs to hold offenders accountable,” Wanky said.
