BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) will deploy 3,119 security personnel from October 30 to November 3 to ensure public safety and prevent criminal activities during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, or Undas 2026.

The deployment will cover cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria, places of worship, major thoroughfares, transportation hubs and tourist destinations across Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, PRO-NIR spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong said.

Of the total personnel, 1,773 are police officers, 340 are personnel from other units, and 1,006 are force multipliers who will assist authorities in maintaining peace and order during the five-day security operation.

PRO-NIR Regional Director Brig. Gen. Rudecindo L. Reales said crime prevention and public safety remain the police’s primary priorities as thousands of people are expected to visit cemeteries and memorial parks to pay tribute to their departed loved ones.

The regional police office will be placed under full alert status to ensure operational readiness and the immediate deployment of personnel when necessary.

Police checkpoints will be established in strategic locations, while regular mobile patrols will be conducted to deter criminal activities and monitor security conditions, particularly in areas expected to experience heavy foot traffic and large crowds.

Police Assistance Desks will also be set up in designated cemeteries and columbaria to assist visitors and respond to their concerns.

The security measures will be implemented in coordination with local government units, other law enforcement agencies, emergency responders and community force multipliers to strengthen police visibility, facilitate traffic management and ensure prompt responses to emergencies.

“Our primary responsibility this Undas is to ensure the safety of our fellow Filipinos and prevent any threat to their security,” Reales said.

He urged police personnel to remain alert, disciplined and responsive throughout the operation, emphasizing the need to protect lives and property and prevent crimes before they occur.

Reales also called on the public to remain vigilant, secure their belongings and immediately report suspicious activities to authorities.

PRO-NIR advised cemetery visitors to observe safety precautions, follow traffic regulations and cooperate with police officers and other personnel assigned to security posts.

The public may report emergencies or suspicious activities to the nearest police station, police personnel or Police Assistance Desk.

Authorities will maintain heightened vigilance throughout the deployment period to help ensure the orderly movement of people and vehicles, particularly in areas expecting large crowds./PN
