HAVE YOU ever had the feeling like everything you touch turns to ash? Like you end up hurting everyone you meet? Like you only make a situation worse? Do you ever feel like you are generally a bad person?

If you have felt like that, then you are not alone. You would be surprised how many people reach out on social media to find others who feel the same way. As if the sadness and suffering they go through life is something they deserve.

These feelings are not things you should dwell on though. To err is human. We all make mistakes. The important thing for us to do is recognize these mistakes and try to make things better.

We need to stop and think, how did it end up like this? Where did it start? What did I do wrong?

Then we need to get the ball rolling by forgiving ourselves. We don’t always do bad things intentionally. Sometimes it’s because of ignorance or because of lack of control. We need to be aware of our own tendencies and accept what they are.

The next important thing to do is reach out to the people we hurt. Regardless of who started the feud, it is important to set aside your pride and ego and just say a simple and heartfelt “I’m sorry.” These words can do magic and you would be surprised about how bringing people back into your life can make it brighter and more colorful.

So don’t feel bad because you’ve made mistakes in life. Don’t dwell on guilt and self-loathing. When we go through life we end up meeting bumps but that doesn’t mean we should just curl up into a ball and give up. (angelica.panaynews@gmail.com/PN)
