ILOILO City – Public utility jeepney and taxi drivers are expecting another gasoline and diesel rollback this December despite an increase in gasoline products prices for the past weeks.
In an interview with jeepney driver Jun Beranan, he said there is a lack of rollback in oil prices.
“Daw kulang pa gid sa pagpanubo. Tama pa man gid ka-mahal kang diesel, mas bentaha gid tani kung mag-naba. Ga-expect pa gid kami nga mag-naba ang presyo,” he said.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, oil firms Shell Philippines, SEAOIL, PTT Philippines, Unioil, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines and Flying V increased its gas prices by P0.10 per liter on Tuesday.
Even though the prices of gasoline products are increasing, jeepney fares remain the same. Thus, jeepney drivers are experiencing losses in income.
“Steady malang japon ang plete ah, wala man nagtaas amo man japon,” Beranan added. Mas nami pagid galing tani kung mapanaba-nabaan kay kung mag amo lang na, bug-at man sa mga drivers kay ganubo man ang kita.”
In an interview with Rebecca M. Rason, officer-in-charge of the Department of Trade and Industry Region 6, she disclosed that the increase or decrease of gas prices will not affect the products.
“Daw wala pa man gid nagsaka (product prices), parang gin-anticipate naton nga if in case they would not affect the products, there is always an automatic production input such as fuel,” said Rason./PN
