ROXAS City – It appears that threats of jail time or death during police operations were not enough to deter illegal drug peddling.
Another suspected pusher was caught in Barangay Poblacion, Panay, Capiz.
Police seized three plastic packs of suspected shabu from the 33-year-old Mamaerto Besorio of Barangay 2, Roxas City.
Facing a charge for selling a prohibited drug, Besorio was detained in the Panay police station lockup cell.
Operatives from Panay police station led by Senior Inspector Romeo Mallari and the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group – Team Alpha led by Senior Inspector Alcer Monsera staged the operation 4 a.m. on Jan. 20.
Earlier Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, provincial police director, vowed to make Capiz “drug-cleared” by March.
Nacion vowed to continuously step up their antidrug campaign as long as there are still people engaged in the illicit trade.
Currently only Mambusao and Dao town were declared “drug-cleared.”/PN
