‘Pushers’ caught in Pilar

ROXAS City – Two men were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangat Santa Fe, Pilar, Capiz.

Police identified them as the 48-year-old Noel Buenafe and 28-year-old Jaymar Nisurtado – both residents of Barangay Dulangan, Pilar.

Buenafe and Nisurtado were caught after they sold suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P1,000 around 2:40 p.m. on Monday.

Recovered from their possession were six sachets of suspected shabu, two cellphones and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Members of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU)– who staged the sting operation – also impounded a Suzuki multicab (plate number LMK 485) the suspects used.

PDEU team leader Senior Inspector Hilbert Gervero said Buenafe is a surrenderee of the Philippine National Police’s “Oplan Tokhang.”

Pero amon na monitor nga nagbalik sia sa pagduso sang ilegal nga droga,” Gervero added.

The suspects told the police that they get their supply from Roxas City.

Buenafe and Nisurtado were detained in the lockup cell of the Pilar municipal police station.

They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
