BACOLOD City – Charged with qualified rape, a man was arrested in Barangay Biao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Fernando Somblingo Jr., Binalbagan police chief, identified the suspect as Edwin Mendoy, 48, a resident of the village.
Mendoy’s apprehension on Jan. 21 was staged on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Walter Zorilla of the Regional Trial Court Branch 55 in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the Binalbagan police station.
No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN
