BACOLOD City – Two men accused of rape and murder were arrested in separate police operations on Thursday.

In Victorias City, police served an arrest warrant to Stephen Belarma Doriman, 38, a resident of Bangga Daan, Barangay 1 in the city, for eight counts of rape.

The warrant was served while Doriman was inside the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Retired Judge Felipe Banzon of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-69 in Silay City issued the arrest warrant dated May 26, 2014. No bail was recommended by the court for each count of rape.

Doriman was also accused of sexual assault. The court recommended a bail bond of P 200,000.

In Silay City, a murder suspect was collared in his house in Purok Patuloy, Zone 4, Barangay Mambulac around 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Superintendent Willy Diel, Silay City police chief, identified the suspect as Joebert “Santoy” Palermo, 20.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ana Celeste Bernad of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 69 in Silay City dated June 27, 2017.

The court recommended no bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty./PN
