ILOILO City – Dumangas, Iloilo’s most wanted person was arrested on Aug. 24 in the town’s Barangay Bantud Pabrica.
Police took to the Dumangas police station Joemarie Jamina, 41, on the strength of an arrest warrant issued in 2015 yet by Judge Vicente Go of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 68
Jamina was charged with raping a niece in 2010, according to Chief Inspector Rene Obregon, Dumangas police chief.
The niece was 15 years old in 2010. She claimed to have been raped thrice.
The rape complaint, however, was only filed in 2015. Obregon said the niece said her uncle threatened to harm her and her family.
“She mustered enough strength to complain only in 2015,” said Obregon.
The suspect was denied the chance of posting bail.
Rape is considered a heinous crime./PN
