ILOILO City – Hiding in the house of a relative in another province did not turn out well for a rape suspect.
The 21-year-old John Rey Llurico was the No. 8 most wanted person in Jamindan, Capiz.
He was arrested in the house of a relative in Barangay Batuan, Pototan, Iloilo around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a police report showed.
A resident of Barangay San Jose, Jamindan, the suspect sought refuge in Pototan upon learning that the court has ordered his arrest.
Llurico was charged with rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Officers from Jamindan and Pototan police stations were armed with a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 21 Judge Antonio Amular when they arrested him.
Judge Amular did not recommend bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty./PN
