DESPITE environmental concerns, some manufacturers are making bigger and bigger vehicles, especially work-related ones, but is there a limit?
A work vehicle I saw recently wouldn’t fit in a standard car park, too wide and too long, therefore taking up much of four spaces. Hardly fair.
Another – unexpected but shameful – approach is the increasing number of large vehicles that are parked in handicapped parking spaces as they are the only spaces large enough to use.
Governments that are concerned with pollution and fairness should restrict vehicle sizes to 90% of a car park’s dimensions. It might also encourage some people, including myself, to go on a diet so we can get in and out easily.
Be a big enough person to use a small car.

Designated survivor?
Anyone who has seen the brilliant show “Designated Survivor” would know the risks of putting the President and those on the line of succession in the one room. They were going to be under attack, but from comedians. The British always make sure that the whole Royal family doesn’t travel together.
There are too many people who must be required to be in his company, sometimes as he nods off, and to be shouting his achievements. It might be better to let these people go to their offices and actually do their jobs except for R.F.K Jr who needs to read some current, reputable, medical magazines especially in regard to vaccines.

Ballot not bullet
Yet another probable assassination attempt on United States President Donald Trump, and fortunately he is unharmed. The attempted assassin has been captured and hopefully will provide an explanation.
The assassination of a leader is simply wrong, or is it?
The assassination of the Ayatollah in Iran was also so wrong but that was praised by so many. Good, bad, or indifferent, no leader should be harmed.
We need true leaders, and we need them to be able to lead without fear. A number do not meet this expectation and should be removed by ballot, not bullet.

Confusing reporting
Sometimes the world doesn’t make sense, nor the reports about it, both at the grand and trivial scales. From what I read this problem is not isolated to Australian papers but is becoming more common worldwide.
A recent report in a number of Australian newspapers and websites concerning some cattle rustling illustrates the problem.
A young man stole some cattle, a simple story, but the headlines emphasized him almost playing for a professional sports team, a fact unrelated to his current life.
Why are some stories of crime or tragedy colored by the person’s occupation, which is usually irrelevant except that it draws the eye and becomes click bait?
There was also a report that the police were attempting to identify the animals.
Does that mean getting out the mugshots…cow, cow, giraffe, cow… or identifying the individuals, Shaun, Timmy, Dolly…or their owners?
