ILOILO City – In a successful 24-hour operation, the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) arrested 43 individuals with outstanding warrants.
The operation involved various police units across the region, targeting both most wanted persons (MWP) and other wanted persons (OWP), according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, the PRO-6 information officer.
Twelve of the arrests were of those classified as MWPs, while the remaining 31 were OWPs.
Each of the regional police units contributed to the roundup, with two arrests made by each of the Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Offices for MWPs.
The Antique Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and the police offices of Bacolod and Iloilo City each made one arrest in this category.
For OWPs, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office led with nine arrests. This was followed by six arrests by Iloilo Police Provincial Office, five by Aklan Police Provincial Office, four by Antique Police Provincial Office, three by Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and two by Capiz Police Provincial Office, with Iloilo City and Bacolod City Police Offices each making one arrest.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, regional police director, commended the concerted efforts of all units involved in the operation. He emphasized the importance of their relentless pursuit in cleansing the communities of criminal elements and bringing them to justice.
“Congratulations and let us continue our campaign to cleanse our communities of these criminals. Our aim is to arrest and bring them before the court of law to let them answer the charges filed against them,” said Wanky./PN
