BACOLOD City – An alleged thief was arrested for illegal possession of firearm.
Police Station 10 officers caught Dennis Villanueva, 23, of Barangay Felisa after his sister April Rose filed a grave threat complaint against him.
Senior Inspector Ramel Bustamante, police station chief, said April Rose told them Villanueva had a .38 improvised pistol.
Officers seized the firearm from Villanueva when they arrested them on Sunday.
Bustamante said they learned from six people they suspected Villanueva of stealing various items from their houses.
But the police cannot charge Villanueva with theft since none of the alleged victims have filed a formal complaint, said Bustamante.
Villanueva was facing a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
