BACOLOD City – A retired police officer has surrendered to the Murcia police station a grenade launcher and its rifle around 9 a.m. Wednesday at Barangay Zone 3 in the town.
Police did not identify the 61-year-old retired policeman, a resident of Purok Mahogany, Barangay Lopez Jaena in the town. He handed over two M203 grenade launchers and one rifle grenade with a bullet-trap, bearing serial number M-766-AVA-0057-85.
Meanwhile in Sagay City, Ramil Badilles, 30, resident of Barangay Poblacion – on behalf of his father – turned over to the Sagay City police station, around 1 p.m. Wednesday, one .45 pistol with Serial Number 300112 and one magazine.
The voluntary surrender of the firearms and the grenade launcher was commended by local police authorities./PN
