ILOILO City – A 64-year-old man was shot to death by riding-in-tandem gunmen yesterday morning in Oton, Iloilo.
Antonio “Tony” Borbon Sr. of Compania Street, Molo district was shot with a .45 pistol in the house of partner Elna Serrato at Florvel Subdivision, Barangay Buray, Oton around 9:45 a.m.
Borbon died of gunshot wounds on the head and an arm while being rushed to The Medical City.
Borbon was at the porch of the house with Serrato when he was shot, said Police Officer 2 Argie Salafraña, investigator of Oton police station.
After the shooting, the triggerman who was wearing a green jacket ran to a waiting motorcycle.
“The color of motorcycle was either green or red and the driver was wearing a black jacket,” said Salafraña.
Borbon was a retired bank security guard.
“As to the reason nga-a gin tiro siya, wala pa gid kami lead. Naga umpisa pa lang ang police investigation,” said Salafraña.
Investigators were trying to secure the recording of a security camera in the area.
The 82-year-old mother of Serrato, Aurelia Nieto, was in the house at the time of the shooting.
“Nakibot man gani (ko),” said Nieto.
She had no idea if Borbon had enemies, she added.
