BACOLOD City – A man was found dead in a river in Barangay East, Candoni, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Police said the 68-year-old resident Nelson Arguelles drowned after slipping off the river. He was drunk at the time, they added.
Arguelles was found around 11 a.m. on Friday, a police report showed.
After fetching Arguelles from the river, rescuers rushed him to the town’s Rural Health Unit.
Attending physician Dr. Annabelle Guardiario, however, pronounced Arguelles “dead on arrival.”/PN
