BACOLOD City – Separate road accidents led to the deaths of a motorcycle driver and a passenger in La Castellana town and Bago City in Negros Occidental, respectively, police said.

The 45-year-old Errol de la Fuente of Barangay Zamora, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental was driving a black Kawasaki Barako motorcycle around 8:45 p.m. on Monday when he crashed against a stockpile in Hacienda Hanoban II, Barangay Sag-ang, La Castellana.

De la Fuente fell off the motorcycle and sustained serious head injuries. He was rushed to the La Castellana Rural Health Center where he was pronounced “dead on arrival.”

At around 12:30 a.m. the next day, Suzuki Raider motorcycle driver Junte Elisan, 22, and passenger Bautista Pudna Jr., 34, met another accident in Barangay Don Jorge Araneta, Bago City, police said.

Elisan and Pudna were residents of Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City.

Elisan lost control of the motorcycle, according to Chief Inspector Joefer Cabural, Bago City police station head.

The vehicle swerved into the right side of the road, stopping at a fence, police said.

Elisan and Pudna sustained head and body injuries and were brought to the Bago City Hospital.

The attending physician declared Pudna “dead on arrival” while Elisan was currently under treatment, police said./PN
