BACOLOD City – A robbery suspect was wounded upon arrest after he attacked the responding police in Barangay Igmaya-an, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the suspect as resident Nixon Gadiano, 18.
Gadiano was nabbed around 10:30 p.m. on Aug 26 after robbing Cynthia Flores’ house in the same village.
Walter Villanueva – who was supposed to visit Flores – caught Gadiano on the act and reported to the police.
When the police arrived, Gadiano hid inside Villanueva’s Kia Sorento and attacked the responding officers using a knife.
The police fired at Gadiano resulting to gunshot wounds on both feet.
He was brought to the town’s health unit and transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Recovered from Gadiano were a 13-inch knife, P6,500 stolen cash, a ball pen, and keys.
He was detained at the Salvador Benedicto police station after treatment./PN
