BACOLOD City – Police raided a house in Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, leading to the apprehension of a robbery suspect.
The suspect was identified as resident Reynaldo Genobatin. Police said he is involved in robbery and gun-for-hire activities in southern Negros Occidental.
Genobatin allegedly leads the CG Genobatin Group, the police added.
Thursday morning’s raid led to the confiscation of a .38-caliber revolver loaded with five bullets of a .357 gun and a telescopic sight.
It was staged by joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Negros Occidental led by Superintendent John Paul Tovera, 1st Negros Occidental Police Mobile Force Company (NOCPMFC) led by Superintendent Robert Lingbawan and 2nd NOCPMFC led by Chief Inspector Lowel Garinganao.
The police conducted the raid on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Edwin Gomez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 77 in Sipalay City.
Genobatin was placed under the custody of the CIDG, facing appropriate charges./PN
