ROXAS City – Authorities seized an estimated P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu and various rounds of ammunition from a high-value target during a search operation in Sitio Tulay, Barangay Banica, around 7:21 a.m. yesterday, July 1.
The suspect, identified as James Bocala, alias “Cobra,” 22 years old and a resident of the area, was arrested following the implementation of a court-issued search warrant.
The operation was conducted by the 1st Mobile Force Company under Lt. Col. Lumyaen Lidawan, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Lt. Col. Chris Arthemius Devaras.
During the operation, authorities recovered 38 sachets of suspected shabu, weighing a total of 190 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P1,292,000.
Also seized from the suspect’s possession were five live rounds of .45 caliber ammunition, three live rounds for a .38 caliber revolver, and one spent cartridge from a .357 caliber revolver.
Bocala is now under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act)./PN
