ROXAS City – In response to the challenge posed by the power outage that affected the entire Panay Island, the Roxas City government urged residents and businesses to refrain from using non-essential lights and power-consuming devices to help redistribute the limited electricity supply to areas in dire need.
The Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center opened its doors as a charging station for city residents from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Classes at all levels, both public and private, were also suspended on Friday, Jan. 5.
For the safety and security of everyone, directives have been issued to the city police, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, Citizens Organization for Peace and Enforcement, and other force multipliers to remain vigilant, increase visibility, and patrol the city’s surroundings.
