Roxas City priority area for COVID-19 vaccines

ROXAS City – More vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from the national government will be delivered here.

Roxas City has been identified a priority area for COVID-19 vaccine allocation, said Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.

He was informed about this, he said, during a recent meeting with the Philippine National Vaccination Operation Center, Interior secretary Eduardo Ano, Health secretary Francisco Duque III, Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Undersecretaries Vince Dizon and Myrna Cabotaje, among others.

β€œKita direkta nga pagahatagan special allocation sang vaccines agud nga sa pagtapos sang Nobyembre makabaton na sang first dose ang 70 percent sang aton populasyon,” Dadivas said.

From an average of 800 individuals vaccinated daily, the target is around 3,500 daily.

Dadivas is hopeful that with this massive vaccination scheme, herd immunity against COVID-19 could be achieved soonest in Roxas City.

As of Oct. 24, Roxas City had 169 active cases of COVID-19, 4,349 cases that recovered and 175 cases that died.

Roxas City COVID-19 command center executive director Ronald Amigo advised the public not to be complacent but continue observing the minimum public health protocols./PN
