ILOILO City – More than P500,000 worth of shabu was seized from a suspected dealer claiming to be a minor yesterday in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
The suspect was taken to the Roxas City police station.
Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, Capiz Police Provincial Office director, said the suspect insisted he was 15 years old but the police have yet to verify this.
Police arrested the suspect around 1 p.m. after selling to an undercover officer a plastic pack of shabu for P1,000.
He further yielded 15 plastic packs of the prohibited drug.
Weighing 75 grams, the substance had an estimated street value of P562,500, police said.
Nacion said their target was actually the suspect’s elder brother.
“The elder brother was the one who transacted with the covert operatives, but he sent his younger brother instead,” said Nacion.
According to Nacion, police surveilled the target for around two weeks.
The main suspect got his supply from Manila, police said.
Their mother was arrested for the same offense in 2015 and currently detained in the Roxas City jail, said the police.
