BACOLOD City – A sacada, or sugar migrant worker, allegedly hacked co-workers in Barangay Baliwagan, San Enrique, Negros Occidental. One died and two were injured.
Suspect Raymund Langote was still at large as of this writing.
Gilbert Brinio was declared dead at the rural health unit, while Elmer Langote and Ronaldo Anacleto are now in stable condition.
All four were from Antique province.
According to the police, the victims were sleeping inside their barracks when the suspect, without apparent reason, hacked Brinio with a sugarcane cutter at around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 27.
Langote and Anacleto tried to pacify the suspect, the police added./PN
