BACOLOD City – Four suspected drug pushers were arrested in three separate sting operations in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.
One of them is the 47-year-old Remil “Bembo” Giamal of Barangay 7, Bacolod City. He was caught in Barangay Poblacion 2 around 7:42 p.m.
Recovered from Giamal’s possession were four sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money and P350 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal drug transactions, police said.
Police also impounded Giamal’s Toyota Revo car with plate number WPV274.
At around 8:45 p.m., police arrested the 42-year-old Lorenzo Nazareno and 46-year-old Remus Alacio – residents of Barangay Old Sagay.
Confiscated from them were four sachets of suspected shabu, P300 marked money and P340 cash believed to be proceeds from their illegal drug transactions, said the police.
The 56-year-old Val Katalbas also of Barangay Old Sagay was the last one to be arrested – at 10 p.m. along the national highway in the village.
Katalbas allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500.
When frisked, he yielded drug paraphernalia and P240 cash also believed to be proceeds from his illegal drug activities, police said.
The police also confiscated Katalbas’ XRM 125 motorcycle.
The four suspects were detained at the Sagay City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
