Seamless, modern comfort: How Seda Capitol Central is perfectly-tailored to fit the Bacolod lifestyle

BACOLOD City – and Negros Occidental – is celebrated for a lot of things, predominantly for the vibrant MassKara Festival, but it’s also recognized as the one true home of the savory and flavorful chicken inasal – as well as being known for its flourishing sugar industry and the laidback demeanor of its people.

The “City of Smiles” is world-famous for another product that seldom gets brought up in day-to-day conversation: Negros silk, famed for its strength and quality, a much sought-after product in the making of barongs and Filipiniana gowns.

By coincidence or by fate, Seda Capitol Central opened in Bacolod City late last year to much fanfare, lending new life to the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol complex.

Seda Capitol Central is the seventh property of Ayala Land’s homegrown hotel brand – uncannily, its name is derived from the Spanish word for “silk,” the smooth and lustrous fabric valued for its beauty.

The 154-room property boasts of a seamless hotel experience, adhering to the tight standards of the Seda brand of hospitality, yet paying tribute to what makes its new locale unique – and its ties to the local culture of Bacolod City and Negros doesn’t stop at just its name.

CUTTING-EDGE

Seda Capitol Central ushers in a new chapter in not just the Capitol Complex’s history but also that of the entire region – offering a modern hotel experience right at the heart of the pulsating lifestyle and tourism destination that is Bacolod City.

“[We want] to be the leading hotel brand synonymous with Filipino hospitality and a seamless experience – in the truest and most literal sense of it!” said SEDA Capitol Central hotel manager Rhett Villaruz. “[We want to be] a much-deserved gift or break to the people of Bacolod and of Negros.”

“[Seda Capitol Central] hopes to offer a new hotel experience right at the heart of this pulsating lifestyle hub – catering to the modern lifestyle – balancing business and leisure amenities, technological conveniences, and genuine service from the heart, all under one roof,” he added.

Seda’s second hotel in the Visayas offers 137 deluxe rooms, 16 studio-style premier rooms, and a Suite – all equipped with contemporary facilities to push your overnight stay to the next level.

Indulge in pampered comfort at one of Seda Capitol Central’s lavish Deluxe guest rooms, or lounge and coast in one of the hotel’s Premier rooms that include a comfy living area.

For an unparalleled Seda Capitol Central experience, you can book the establishment’s sole Suite – a 90 sq. m. haven of ease and luxury, outfitted with its own kitchenette and two bathrooms. Seda Capitol Central’s Suite also boasts an extravagant bathtub and penthouse views of Bacolod City.

Guests can enjoy greater value for every stay by enrolling in the Seda Edge guest loyalty program. Seda has added benefits to delight existing members and encourage new enrollments, allowing them to redeem through accumulated points rewards such as Club Lounge access, upgrades and free overnight stays.

DINING HAVEN

Knowing that Bacolod City is popular as one of the gastronomical havens of the country, Seda Capitol Central has brought to the city Misto, the brand’s signature all-day dining restaurant, offering a medley of international and local dishes; and Straight Up, the first and only premier roof deck bar in Negros. The bar offers both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter offering striking views of the expanding cityscape.

Served only at Seda Capitol Central’s Misto is a signature dish inspired by one of Bacolod’s street food staples. The humble chicken inasal is elevated to a whole other level with the creation of executive sous chef Ynan Del Rosario: the mouth-watering Boneless Chicken Inasal.

Seared to perfection, this twist on the local classic remains loyal to its roots: light and tender, yet with the smoky inasal flavor we all crave.

BUSINESS PLAY

For meetings, banquets, and other events, Seda Capitol Central has two function rooms at the roof deck conducive for small group discussions.

Three more multi-purpose event spaces on the ground level can serve groups of up to 80 people, but can be merged into one big venue to accommodate 250 guests for a banquet-style affair, and as many as 320 people for cocktails and simple social events. Seda Capitol Central also has boardrooms suited for meetings and other formal gatherings.

Seda Capitol Central is located within the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol complex. The Capitol Central estate is being developed into a new urban center serving rapidly growing Negros Occidental and will highlight a regional mall to be completed this 2018.

“What makes Seda Capitol Central unique and different from all the other Seda hotels is the people of Negros and Bacolod – this vibrant ‘City of Smiles.’ [But in a way,] all other SEDAs are unique in their own right,” concluded the hotelier Villaruz.
