ROXAS City – Which barangay in this city is the “best performer” when it comes to responses and strategies against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?
The search is on.
On Thursday, the city government and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched the “Search for CURES in Barangays.”
CURES stands for “COVID-19 Unified Response and Effective Strategies in Barangays”.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas described the search as “a unique program” that seeks to motivate and inspire barangay leaders to create more initiatives to protect their barangays and constituents from the viral disease such as enforcing facemask / face shield ordinances, physical distancing, and cooking for repatriated quarantined locally stranded individuals, among others.
With Dadivas during the “Search for CURES in Barangays” launching was DILG-Roxas City officer Ginno Salamanca and Councilor Paul Baticados.
“Indi ini bulong sa COVID apang sa sini nga kumpetisyon, makita kag mapasidunggan naton ang mga barangays nga naga-perform sang maayo kag nagahimu sang istratehiya para mapahagan-hagan ang epekto sang COVID,” Dadivas further stressed.
DILG provincial director John Ace Azarcon commended the city government for this unique program.
“Pinasahi ini nga programa sang city government nga amon igarekomendar nga mangin kabahin sa Local Government Academy sang DILG. Isa ini ka innovativestrategy. Roxas City pa lang ang una nakahimu sini,” said Azarcon./PN
