ROXAS City – A senior high school student was found dead hanging from a tree, police said.
The 21-year-old Rolando Yanson Jr. of Barangay Adlawan in this city was believed to have committed suicide.
Yanson’s lifeless body was discovered by his employer Antonio Santos hanging from a tamarind tree with a nylon rope tied around his neck at 6 a.m. on Monday.
Santos is the owner of the house where Yanson, a working student, stayed and served as a house helper.
Santos told Panay News that he received a text message from the victim around 9 p.m. on Sunday.
“Ang iya text sa akon nga hambalon ko si mama kag papa nya nga indi na sila mag problema,” he said.
Police investigations revealed the victim’s parents were opposing their son’s relationship with his 15- year-old girl friend.
Yanson was brought to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in this city where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”/PN
