NUEVA VALENCIA, Guimaras – Several households in Sitio Tamucol, Barangay Igang here are on lockdown.
Vice Mayor Paul Vincent Dela Cruz, officer-in-charge, ordered the lockdown on Sept. 24 after the sitio recorded seven new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Executive Order No. 46 imposing the lockdown on households with the cases stressed it would be observed “until further notice.”
The goal is “to prevent the COVID-19 infection from further spreading,” stressed Dela Cruz.
As of Sept. 24, active COVID-19 cases in Barangay Igang stood at 39.
The Municipal Task Force COVID-19 through the Contact Tracing Team and the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team were directed to notify and strictly monitor the households on lockdown.
Members of these households are prohibited from unnecessary travel until contact tracing, testing and disinfection have been completed.
As of Sept. 24, Nueva Valencia’s active COVID-19 cases reached 152 from the following barangays:
