ILOILO City – A 35-year-old man hanged himself to death in Barangay Bantayan, San Enrique, Iloilo.
Jodel Guarin, a laborer, was found hanging from the ceiling of their house by his nine-year-old son on Dec. 16 around 3 a.m.
From what the San Enrique police so far gathered, Guarin was bothered by the alleged uploading of his sex video on Facebook by someone.
Senior Inspector Norbert Sepole, municipal police chief, said his men were investigating this.
Hours before he was found dead, Guarin apparently composed a text message and saved it in his cell phone; he did not send it to anyone.
The message read: “Ang nag himo ka da ya kanakon, indi ta gid ka pagpalinungon.”
The police considered the unsent text message a suicide note.
According to Guarin’s mother Josephine, her son appeared stressed out for days due to the alleged Facebook uploading of his sex video.
He refused to leave the house due to sheer embarrassment, said Josephine.
“We have to investigate this matter. So far, we have not seen any sex video of the suicide victim on Facebook, and his family told us, too, that he was suffering from a nervous breakdown,” Sepole said.
The police also learned that before Guarin was found dead, he visited relatives and friends and said goodbye to them.
“We have not seen indications of foul play in this case,” said Sepole./PN
