BACOLOD City – An undetermined amount of suspected shabu was recovered from a sedan parked at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) on Thursday.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents searched the Honda City following a report from the CLMMRH.

Aside from the suspected shabu, the agents also found a tooter from inside the car, said Special Investigator III William de Arca Jr.

Driver Kenneth Mirasol parked the vehicle at the CLMMRH around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, de Arca said.

He wanted to get checked by a certain “Dr. Barredo,” saying he was not feeling well, de Arca said, citing accounts from security guard Ernesto Morales.

Morales advised Mirasol to park near the West Tower. He also told the latter that the doctor he was looking for has already left the hospital.

All of a sudden, Mirasol went berserk, prompting the security guard to report to Police Station 2. As a result, Mirasol was arrested and detained in the police station’s lockup cell, leaving his sedan behind.

When Morales inspected the hospital premises, he checked the sedan and noticed a white substance scattered on the driver’s seat, said de Arca.

On Jan. 26 the security guard reported what he saw to the hospital management, which in turn reported to the NBI, de Arca said.

Agents secured from Regional Trial Court Branch 57 (San Carlos City, Negros Occidental) Judge Danilo Amisola a warrant to search the vehicle on Feb. 2.

De Arca said the recoveries will be subject to laboratory tests./PN
