BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000 was recovered when authorities raided a house in San Juan Baybay, Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
San Carlos City police head Superintendent D’ Artagnan Katalbas Jr. said the illegal drugs were confiscated from the 38-year-old resident Rolando “Lando” Manguin’s residence.
Armed with a search warrant that Judge Katherine Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 59 in San Carlos City issued on May 29, elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the city police searched the house around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Recovered from there were nine sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing about 20 grams, drug paraphernalia and P5,222 cash, a PDEA spot report showed.
The authorities also confiscated Manguin’s Honda Beat motorcycle and four cellphones.
Maguin was detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility.
He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
