ILOILO City – A 62-year-old sheriff was arrested for alleged robbery-extortion in an entrapment operation around 10:05 a.m. yesterday at a bakery in Barangay Danao, City Proper district.
According to the Iloilo City Police Station 1 (ICPS1), alias “Louie” is assigned to the Municipal Trial Court in Passi City, Iloilo.
The operation was launched after a complaint from alias “Rose,” 46, who alleged that Louie had solicited P50,000 from her to influence the outcome of her pending criminal case.
ICPS1 officers apprehended the suspect after Rose handed him over the bribe money.
Police seized the marked money, receipt, and a blue Nokia cellphone used in the transaction.
