BACOLOD City – The local government of Sipalay City in Negros Occidental has temporarily banned tourists beginning Tuesday until the end of the month.
Mayor Ma. Gina Montilla-Lizares announced this move through an executive order. She cited spike of local transmission of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Lizares said all travelers coming from and going to any declared high-risk areas shall not be allowed to enter Sipalay City except for the delivery of goods and items.
Delivery personnel, meanwhile, are required to present their latest medical clearance, company identification cards and delivery or travel order.
All travelers would also be subjected to checkpoints and local COVID-19 protocols in the city./PN
