Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings remain a force to reckon with in the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup sans star center Gregory Slaughter.
“We still have a lot of weapons. We have Stanley (Pringle). He is somebody who is still very much exploring how to use his talent and where he fits best. There’s still a lot to find out about him,” coach Tim Cone stressed on a Coaches Unfiltered podcast.
Ginebra will also give larger roles to their players Aljon Mariano, Arthur dela Cruz and rookie Arvin Tolentino to fill the gap left by the seven-foot Slaughter, who went back to United States early this year.
“I like Arvin’s (Tolentino) game. It’s just a matter of whether we could get him to our culture and play how we want him to,” Cone said.
“We’ll make up for Greg (Slaughter) in other ways. It’s really tough having something ripped away from you like that without having been given anything in return,” he added.
