IF WAKING up every morning and Rodrigo Duterte is still the President of the Philippines is not bad enough for the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” then waking up that Teresita Leonardo-de Castro is the new Supreme Court Chief Justice is probably the worst nightmare for them.
Of all the qualified candidates shortlisted by the Judicial and Bar Council or JBC for the position of Chief Justice President Duterte picked de Castro.
It’s like rubbing salt to the already bleeding hearts of the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon”, never mind that she will only serve for two months as she is set to retire at the mandatory age of 70 come October.
De Castro is the “officially recognized” nemesis of the “champion” of the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon”, the woman who “never was and never has been” Chief Justice, Maria Lourdes Sereno or Meilou as she prefers to call herself.
You have to hand it to the man; President Rodrigo Duterte is a genius when it comes to pissing off his critics. The timing is always impeccable and when it hits, it hits hard and straight to the most sensitive part.
Of course, moi is enjoying this. Just the thought that these “yellow ribbon devotees” are pissed off and squirming in their yellow knickers seemingly helpless makes it the more enjoyable.
Happiness indeed comes in simple ways…
Besides the obvious hint of sadistic glee there are very serious legal implications with the appointment of de Castro as Chief Justice, one that could affect the freedom of that nincompoop Noynoy Aquino and if the “Barefoot Lady from Naga” Leni Robredo will still have a job or not.
Just two months you say not enough time to accomplish all that? Perhaps. But it can be done with enough political will and the Duterte presidency is not lacking of that.
Take note of this excerpt from the Aug. 28 issue of Inquirer.net:
Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon believes there is only one way Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo de Castro could address all questions being raised against her appointment.
She should inhibit from any political case pending before the high tribunal.
Thus, on Tuesday, Drilon urged de Castro to inhibit from “politically charged cases” in order to uphold the integrity of the high tribunal’s decisions during her stint.
Really, Tito Frank, you’re now concerned about the questions raised against CJ de Castro’s appointment but these questions are from the usual suspects who have this filthy habit of questioning anything President Duterte does from his choice of wardrobe to his sleeping habits?
That statement looks more like concern for the cases filed against him now pending in court because former Ombudsman Morales sat on them and the very strong possibility that they will now be given due attention. And there’s no Meilou to block them.
“That’s just the way it is, things will never be the same” and much to the despair of the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon.”

Her appointment made her the first female Philippine Supreme Court chief justice after high court magistrates voted in favor of the quo warranto petition that sought to invalidate the appointment of Sereno.
And that’s rubbing more salt to the gaping wounds of Meilou and the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon.” Meilou has become a non-entity dumped to the dustbin of unpleasant memories one wishes to forget.
Come to think of it, Teresita Leonardo de Castro got a score of 1 – the highest in the psychological examinations given by the Judicial and Bar Council to the candidates for Chief Justice while Meilou got the score of 4, the lowest on a scale of 1 to 5.
Meilou failed the psychological examinations and her psychological profile is also not what one would expect from a wannabe Chief Justice. Let’s just say she’s one step into the dark side of the moon.
That would have been a red flag yet that nincompoop Noynoy Aquino broke all that is holy and still appointed Meilou as his “Chief Justice”. Really, what can we expect from a completely useless congressman and senator spending 12 years in Congress doing absolutely nothing, not a single to bill or law to his name?
Of course now we know that Noynoy Aquino owes his presidency to Smartmatic and the PCOS machines.
And it came to pass Rodrigo Duterte is now President courtesy of 21 million Filipinos who actually voted for him.
So who’s afraid of Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo – de Castro? Here’s a clue, they used to have a penchant for yellow, now it’s “shabu white.”/PN
