BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver was stabbed to death in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The 35-year-old Carlo Chavez of Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City died of stab wounds on the body, a police report showed.
Police identified the suspect as 33-year-old Felizardo Lepitin Jr.
According to police investigators, Chavez was waiting for passengers when Lepitin stabbed him around 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lepitin’s 25-year-old live-in partner Carla Canillo tried to pacify the suspect but to no avail.
Chavez was rushed to the Lopez District Farmers Hospital in Sagay City where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Authorities were able to impound the suspect’s motorcycle and recover the weapon used in the incident.
Officers of the Sagay City police station conducted a manhunt operation against Lepitin, who fled after the incident./PN
