‘Sulpak’ kills owner

BACOLOD City – The improvised shotgun, or sulpak, that he owns accidentally fired, police said.

The 62-year-old Ere Tejemo died of a gunshot wound on the right upper hip, a police report showed.

The incident happened inside Tejemo’s house in Barangay San Jose, Toboso, Negros Occidental, the report added.

According to investigation, Tejemo heard dogs barking outside his house around 3:20 a.m. on Monday.

This prompted Tejemo to get the gun to secure his house from possible burglars but the weapon accidentally fired.

Tejemo was brought to the Dr. Vicente Gustilo Memorial District Hospital in Escalante City, Negros Occidental where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”/PN
