ILOILO City – A 4-year-old boy was hit by a sport utility vehicle in Barangay Divinagracia, La Paz district.
Nathan Borromeo, a resident of the village, died of a head injury, a police report showed.
Borromeo was walking with his mother in the barangay at around 7 p.m. on May 18 prior to the crash.
When they reached an intersection, the boy suddenly crossed the street – oblivious to the incoming Toyota Fortuner, police said.
The vehicle’s driver, Eleuterio Legarde of the same district, said he tried to stop but it was too late.
Legarde was detained in the custodial facility of the La Paz police station./PN
