CENTERPHIL Montessori Silver Knights athletes in swimming, table tennis and chess captured medals in the 3rd Iloilo Congressional District Sports Association Meet 2018 on Thursday in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Swimmer Ronee Miguel Perez bagged four medals – a gold in 200m backstroke and bronze medals each of 400m and 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke.
The Iloilo City native also participated in 200m freestyle but failed to win a medal. Still, he will move on to the Iloilo School Sports Council (Integrated) Meet next year.
The Silver Knights athletes also had three medals in table tennis, with Thea Aaron capturing gold in women’s individual and Dane Casorla having silver in men’s individual.
The trio of Shania Salamanca, Rhea Mae Cupita and Alyanna Carman settled for a bronze medal in women’s table tennis team.
In chess Julcyn Pragale took home silver in Board 1 women’s.
“The medals they won were a fruit of their labor,” said CenterPhil owner Mark Palabrica. “I personally saw how these athletes managed to balance their education and training to become better at their respective sports.”/PN
