ILOILO City – Accused of child abuse, a school teacher was arrested yesterday in her house in Barangay Aguilar, San Lorenzo, Guimaras.
Elizabeth Cutanda, 57, taught at San Miguel Elementary School in Jordan town.
She was charged with violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Senior Inspector Edwin Belarmino, Jordan police chief, said they served Cutanda with a warrant of arrest at 8 a.m.
It was not immediately clear what the accusation specifically was but Belarmino said the complainant was her student.
Cutanda was taken to the Jordan police station but she was later released after posting the P80,000 bail bond./PN
