Teen killed in stabbing; suspect dies in Negros

BACOLOD City — A 14-year-old boy was killed in a stabbing incident allegedly committed by his uncle, who later died after setting himself on fire, in Don Juan Subdivision, Barangay 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on the morning of December 14.

Police identified the victim as a minor, while the suspect was identified as alias “Ray,” 34. Both were residents of the area.

According to the San Carlos City Police Station (CCPS), the incident occurred at around 8:06 a.m.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was allegedly asleep inside a room when he was suddenly attacked and stabbed by the suspect using a bladed weapon, without any apparent provocation.

The victim succumbed to multiple stab wounds.

After the stabbing, the suspect allegedly set himself on fire inside his house. Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) responded to the scene and later declared the fire under control.

During fire suppression operations, firefighters discovered the burned and lifeless body of the suspect lying in a prone position inside the house.

The victim’s body was brought to St. Peter Funeral Homes in Barangay 2, San Carlos City. The City Health Officer was notified to conduct post-mortem examinations on both the victim and the suspect./PN
