NEGROS Occidental — A fire gutted a house in Purok 1, Barangay Cabadiangan, Himamaylan City in this province over the weekend.
The fire broke out around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 13. Authorities said the owner, alias “Ellen”, was not at home during the fire. She was tending her sari-sari store nearby.
According to the Himamaylan City Police Station, the blaze originated from the kitchen and quickly spread to other portions of the house.
Ellen also told the police that the fire may have been caused by the extension wire connected to Christmas lights.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Himamaylan City said a “fire out” was declared at around 8:24 p.m. It added that the fire damaged approximately P675,000 worth of properties./PN
