Three hurt in Pavia hit-and-run

ILOILO – Three persons were injured after a top-down tricycle was sideswiped by a speeding Mitsubishi L-300 van along NIA Road in Barangay Jibao-an, Pavia, Iloilo, at around 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25.

Pavia police identified the victims as 75-year-old driver Guadencio Gualda Hojilla and passengers Vilma Villacorta Serrano, 55, and Rosevil Villacorta Serrano, 22, all residents of the town’s Deca Homes Subdivision.

Police said Rosevil sustained serious injuries and was brought to West Visayas State University Hospital in Jaro, Iloilo City, while the others received first aid from emergency responders.

The van, bearing plate number TDO 934, did not stop and continued towards C1 Road, Mandurriao district.

Officers of the Pavia Municipal Police Station have identified the said vehicle through backtracking. They were coordinating with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 to track down the driver.

Police urged anyone with information that could help in identifying and locating the driver to come forward./PN
