ILOILO City – A frustrated murder suspect had been arrested in Barangay San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
Reagan Gavieta, 33, was the No. 4 wanted person of the police in Tigbauan, Iloilo, a police report showed.
The resident of Barangay Buyuan, Tigbauan was detained at the town’s police station after his arrest on May 30.
He was charged with frustrated murder over an incident that happened sometime in 2008.
Gavieta hid in the island province of Guimaras upon learning that a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
The court set the bail bond for his temporary liberty at P200,000.
On the same day two bet collectors for the illegal numbers game “bookies” were caught in Barangay Rizal Ilawod, Calinog, Iloilo.
Maricel Salmon, 32, of Barangay Libot, Calinog and Rosario Deopita, 53 of Barangay Badlan, Calinog were taken to the municipal police station at 8:30 a.m., a police report showed.
Officers caught them soliciting bets for “bookies.” Bet money worth P688 and gambling paraphernalia were seized from them./PN
