ILOILO City – Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, for the first time, tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The city mayor confirmed yesterday that his reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test result showed him infected with the viral disease.
Prior to this, Treñas was already confined at a city hospital yesterday after experiencing symptoms of pneumonia.
Despite his health status, the city mayor said he will still be working remotely to ensure services are still brought to the city residents./PN
