BACOLOD City – Tribu Ica of Sofronio Carmona Memorial National High School was declared the champion of the 30th Kali-Kalihan Harvest Festival street dance competition in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

Don Salvador Benedicto celebrated its 40th founding anniversary from Feb. 4 to 9.

Tribu Inca bested 11 other tribes during the celebration highlights on Thursday and received P40,000 cash prize.

Meanwhile, Tribu Bunga of Bunga Integrated School won first place with P30,000; Tribu Pandanon of Pandanon Elementary School was second with P20,000; Tribu Nonoy JR of Spur 16 Elementary School was third with P15,000; and Tribu Nene of Salvador Benedicto Elementary School was fourth with P10,000.

The celebration was graced by Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go.

Meanwhile, Mayor Laurence Marxlen Dela Cruz led the groundbreaking for the establishment of the town’s 17-hectare economic center in Barangay Igmaya-an.

A new public market, town hall, and police station would be built in the center.
